    -31R MCAT (11B/10V/11P)
    -Cumulative GPA - 3.45, BCPM GPA - 2.9/3.0
    -Virginia resident
    -EC:
-Affective sensory fMRI lab (1 year)
-Duke Varsity Rowing team (2 years)
-Eating Disorder research (1.5 years + secondary author on a publication)
    -Self-control research (1 semester)
-Rodent research (1 year and a semester)
    -Hospital volunteering (2.5 years)
-Hospital shadowing (pediatric/transplant surgeon for a year and pediatric surgeon for a year)
-Organized an AIDS symposium to mark the 30th anniversary of AIDS in the US
    -Duke McKids volunteering (3 years)
-Camp Kaleidoscope for chronically ill kids
    -Duke Global Medical Brigades
-CitySeed Farmer's Market volunteer (1 year)

-I graduated a year early from Duke with a BS in Psychology in 2010 (because it's so expensive!).
-I know my science GPA will be the big red flag on my app, so I am looking into ways to bring that up (and if I do well in a post-bacc program, it should make a significant difference on the GPA because I don't have that many classes with my 3 years of college).
-My question is... do I have a shot at any allopathic schools with my stats? And what would be your advice for a 1 year post-bacc program?

Any advice/feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time.

Why is your BCPM so low? Was it one bad year or similar grades throughout?

Are you a member of a special population group?

How many credit hours would it take to get your BCPM GPA up to a 3.6 (assuming straight As)? AMCAS GPA calculator: http://medschool.ucsf.edu/postbac/pdf/AMCAS%20GPA_Calculator%20Version%204%20Final.xls

Coursework to consider would be upper-level Bio, Statistics, and Biochem with maybe psych thrown in if you don't have much.

Hi! It was up and down... some semesters would be good and others wouldn't be so great. :( I had trouble with my science GPA because I didn't do a very good job of balancing my extracurriculars/research and schoolwork. Rowing ended up taking 20-40 hours a week and one of my research labs required a 7-day-a-week injection of citalopram at 3:00 am. And on top of that, overloading (5-6 classes every sem) to graduate early didn't help me out.

...Which aren't really good excuses at all. I certainly got it all done, but the gpa suffered as a result.

I had been hoping you'd say you have a steep upward grade trend, but without that, i think you're stuck with doing some GPA repair.

No, but it fulfills some med schools' behavioral science requirement.
