Victory in Missouri!

The Board's letter to Dr. Kunkel and MSMA is nothing more than the Board's expression of opinion based upon a fact pattern presented to the Board. The Board's expression of opinion did not regulate the scope of practice of nursing. Finally, there is no controversy between these parties that is ripe for review. For these reasons, the trial court's grant of summary judgment in favor of the Board was proper. We affirm

ummmm, where is the victory?

Ummmmm. Murses and noctors can't do injections under fluroscopic guidance; only PHYSICIANS trained to do so.

That's the victory jackass.

crnas nurses and advanced practice nurses are gonna have to learn. If you wanna play doctor.. ya gotta go to doctor school. plain and simple everthing they do is a delegation of authority by us.

LOL, banned.

Murses trying to practice medicine....when will it stop?

Is it just jealousy that brings RNs to this forum. Nurses don't have prescriptive authority. Sorry. You can't even order Tylenol. How does that make you feel? It's ok, you can make yourself feel better by posting on SDN forum. Get a life.

Sorry. You can't even order Tylenol. How does that make you feel? I.

The following question is from an admittedly uninformed EM resident (trying daily to become more knowledgeable about this), so I realized I may get flammed...which is cool, as long as my question is answered too.

I have always assumed CRNAs working in my hospital push drugs "ordered" by the supervising physician.

How do CRNAs who are practicing in these states that don't require physician supervision "order" the meds? Has the scope of practice of CRNAs been expanded like that of NPs? Do the surgeons sign off on this?

Also, regarding the shooting of Dr. Kunkel:

There has been an - admittedly sputtering effort - by the professional societies of EM (eg ACEP) to publish the names of "board-certified" EM docs who testify against other EM docs and use the authority of "board-certification" to misrepresent the standard of care.

These names have, in the past, been published on official society sites.

Maybe a similar form of "shooting" could be used with this Dr. Kunkel or others.

Respectfully and in full support,
HH
