I took my exam recently for the second time. The first time around, i didn't think the vignettes were that long and i finished all blocks in time. I actually felt decent walking out of the exam. I knew I didn't kill it, but I thought I'd atleast pass. Guess what I failed it borderline.
So next time around, I did uw again, reviewed FA again with DIT and ended up with 59% overall on the qbank. Took UWSA1 as I hadn't taken that last time around and scored a 209. Took exam 2 days after UWSA1 and felt horrible walking out. Ran out of time on every block especially on one of them where i missed last 4 questions. The stats questions were very tough and i dont even think i got those right which were around 7 - 8 in all.

I would seriously warn future test takers to be careful. Vignettes of most questions were actually way longer than UWSA1 and UW qbank.

Feeling extremely horrible and low at this time. What a start to the new year!!

For all those who passed, how far were you from your predicted UWSA1 (specifically). Is it +/- 5, 10, 15, 20?? Over or under?? I am feeling terrible.

Please give your input, it will help me

My real score was +/- 7 points from the uwsa's.

I thank God I passed although not with a great mark. As mentioned before, the exam was super-duper tough. Nothing like UWorld. Maybe I was an exception. I dropped quite a lot from my predicted UWSA1 score given 2 days before exam.

I write this only for future step takers to take NBMEs as they are surely more predictive.

Congrats on passing. I am taking my test v soon and recently took UWSA 1 . Can you tell me by how much UWSA1 overestimated? bec I am v anxious to know the real(close to real) assessment. Kind of feel lost when hearing it overestimates.
All the luck on step 2 exam.
Thx.

Congratulation! your hard work is paid off by your passing score.

I am going to take the test in Feb. How long you got your score after you toke step 1.

Thanks!

@nowayout - i dropped a solid 20 points. I think UWSA overestimates because by the end of the qbank, you get used to answering uworld type of questions. NBME is surely more accurate in predictions.

@medfuture - normally it takes 3 - 4 weeks after the exam. it usually comes on a wednesday and you will get an email notifying if your scores are up.
