Hi all,

I'm having my first, only, and last virtual interview for this cycle in a few days. I know a few of the basics.. like.. make sure the lighting is not atrocious.. and... clean up your room, but do you guys have any other personal tips/tricks, and/or a good, trustworthy website with tips pertinent to a medical school interview?

Help!

Dress nicely too? lol obvious... Only difference is you don't have to work on your handshake!

Dress well. Look at the camera when you speak (as well as when you listen) and not the other person's face (unless you need to see their face for a nonverbal cue, that is). All regular interview strategies apply. I'd pick an area not your room -- go for an office or some other professional, quiet (and controlled) setting, if available. Make sure your internet at the location you use is reliable. The list goes on....

good call. PLUG IN for internet bc wireless will always do you in if you need it. Also make sure you display all your awards and high school gym medals in the background. It makes you look that much more impressive 😉

Move the video of their face as close as you can to where your webcam physically is.

Make sure lots of Duke banners and other paraphernalia are prominently displayed in the background. Paint your room blue & white. 😛

Might be a dub question, but is this common at all? This is the first ive seen about this. What is the number of schools that do this? anyone know?

Duke blue is kinda dark, might make you look a little depressed lol.
