Virtual scribing or academic research gap year job?

My thoughts are to strengthen my clinical experiences. Currently

• 1800 hours research (1400 industry + 400 academia)
• 300 hours nursing aide
• 100 hours ED shadowing
• 100 hours radiology shadowing

I was offered a live virtual (audio based) scribe opportunity. I was also offered an academic research assistant position in-person.

Any thoughts?

Is it clinical research? If not, I think you have your answer since you need clinical experience.

Other factors to consider;
Could it lead to a publication?
Would you have to rent in another city vs. scribe from home?

I would recommend against this, to be honest, as virtual scribe jobs aren't really valued too highly in admissions. Most adcoms seem to think they're only barely clinical experiences, as your environment doesn't change (since it's virtual).
