I am confused whenever I encounter secondaries that ask me to send letters of rec through VirtualEval. All of my LOR's are currently in Interfolio and I am unsure of how the whole VirtualEval thing works. For example, Jefferson Medical College asks that letters be transmitted through VirtualEval. Or if my school does not have VirtualEval, to fax the letters to them. Is interfolio sufficient to satsify this faxing option? I'm just confused. Please help! Thanks!😀

Both VirtualEvals and Interfolio are electronic letter services, generally a university will accept both but sometimes only prefers one or the other. I believe I read somewhere on here that Interfolio will fax your letters for an additional charge, so call and ask the med school if sending the letters by fax via Interfolio is acceptable, and then you're golden!

My problem is a lot suckier in that my committee letters and stuff have been done and waiting for my pre-med office to send via VirtualEvals and they simply haven't done it yet (and seemingly just flat out won't do it for some reason). Every time I ask I get "in the next few days" or "early next week" and it's really starting to bug me because I've already done about 10 secondaries and med schools are just waiting on my letters to be complete, so it's not really up to me anymore and up to my stupid pre-med office, arghh😡

Re: Virtual Evals, another question, actually. Do you all know if we need to instruct the schools to which we're applying that our committee letters are available for them on Virtual Evals, or will they already assume so/receive notification from the program itself?

Much love,

If one's Pre Health Committee has VE as an option, and all but 7 US medical schools accept VE...is there any reason not to use the service?

curious, which 7?

The MD schools that don't are:

David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA
University of California San Francisco School of Medicine
University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine
Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine
University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine
University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine
