Hi everyone,

I'm from California and I'll be in Boston for a few days this week (Thursday through Monday). I was initially hoping to get a tour of the Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, but when I called the admissions office today I was told that they only schedule tours March through September. They told me that if I were to stop by on my own, I would only be able to get into the administration building. Is that true?

Would any current Tufts vet students be willing to show me around the campus briefly?

Thanks for your responses!

You know the vet school is quite far outside Boston right? It's in Grafton and not on the main campus.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'd appreciate it if someone could commit to showing me around before I make the trip out there. At the least, it would be nice to know if there is even anything worth seeing (is it true that I wouldn't be able to get into the majority of the buildings?)

If you stopped by on a weekday 8-5, you could get into other buildings (ie administration, visit Wildlife, cafeteria, the library, anatomy building). You would not be able to walk through the small animal, large animal or wildlife hospitals themselves (only the front entryway) without a tour guide or student/faculty with identification. Even if you are not taking a formal tour, it might be worth checking out the campus itself (plenty of area to walk, see the farm, check out the cafe/classrooms, check out North Grafton and the area to understand where you would be living if you decide to attend here). The admissions process for the year is well underway so that is why they are unable to accommodate additional tours. There is a train that comes directly to Tufts campus from Boston (it's next door) (about an hour away) so you could easily make it a half day trip, just to see the sights.
