Yeah. I never heard anyone say "next" Friday. It was always "Friday." My group was extremely surprised when she said it, and Dr. Pelzer confirmed that it was sooner rather than later.
 
Haha, glad to help 🙂 I'm just not going to worry about it and enjoy my weekend. I hope everyone can do the same! I don't think our minds can take this obsessing over emails that do or do not come, and it may be better for everyone to just go out and have some fun. Take a load off and unwind a bit. 🙂

Agreed...I think I'll be fine when I finally accept at some point in the next hour or two that we're not hearing back tonight, I feel like I have just built this week up to THIS DAY so I've been a mess all week obsessively checking everything....so here's to hoping I can learn to chill out a little! There isn't anything we can do, as agonizing as it is.
 
Ok guys I'm gonna take Mystic's advice and log off for a while.

Hey all. I work third shift and have been sleeping all day, blissfully unaware of the fact that no one was getting a response from VMRCVM. I haven't heard anything either🙁
Not sure if this is useful info, but I emailed Dr. Pelzer earlier in the week a thank you for the interview and her reply email was at 11pm. Maybe the admissions committee works late? I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, just passing along info.
I also agree that she definitely said Friday we'd get emails.
 
Not to add to the anxiety...but there is always a chance they will send the email sometime this evening. I emailed Joyce last Friday after my interview with my picture because I forgot it, and she emailed me back at 10:30PM. I don't think admissions staff work normal hours during this process. =) Don't despair.

Hahahaha literally just wrote the same thing at the same time. Great minds think alike!
 
Also, why was there no orientation/info presentation? I got a 10 minute tour and that was it!

I was also underwhelmed by their presentation of the school, especially compared to LSU where I visited a couple weeks before. Perhaps VMRCVM staff was busy staging the interviews, I imagine that MMI format is quite an undertaking. Overall I thought VMRCVM's admissions process was a lot less transparant and applicant friedly than other places that I applied.

Oh crap, I've got to go to work and it is going to be hard not obsessing over this while I'm up all night! My plan to avoid the last day of waiting anxiety by sleeping all day was thwarted. Curses! +pity+

I was disappointed by no orientation, but I was able to get my questions answered by first year students in the dining commons in the 20-30 min between interview and tour. And we got a solid 30-min tour by a lovely mixed animal tracker who had lots of good info on the public/corporate track.

As far as the lack of admissions decisions today, I distinctly remember Dr. Pelzer saying they would have decisions out today, as long as the conference going on in the middle of the week did not interfere. Anyone else from group 2 remember this?

I know Dr. Pelzer teaches too... I'd like to think she was overly ambitious in trying to balance a conference, admissions decisions, teaching, clinic work... etc. While I'm disappointed about not getting a decision today, I'm sure I'll make it until next week, or whenever they come out.
 
Hm, I don't remember hearing about the conference.

Oh well. I don't /really/ mind waiting, just all this pent-up anticipation is killing me. I'm headed back home away from friends/family and the fiance this weekend, after having really looked forward to getting the news while around them (on the one hand, to commiserate; on the other, to celebrate). Oh well. =)
 
Hi all! Long time lurker here! I just had to come out of the woodwork and tell you VMRCVM DECISION EMAILS ARE OUT! I got accepted am so excited! I also applied dual degree so I'm still waiting to hear on that but YAY for DVM! Ahhhh good luck all of you!

I'M IN!!!! IS Maryland. I'm so utterly shocked and excited I don't even know what to say. I had a really good feeling about my interview but this feeling doesn't even compare. Good luck to everyone else, I can't believe how late this is: I got my e-mail at 12:55 AM HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT but I'm so happy and thankful!! See all you to-be-Hokies August 20th 🙂!!!

At large OOS student. Really strange because I did horribly in several of those scenarios.

Shared it with the wife... Then we felt destructive so we drew a bullseye on the shower wall in our apt and egged it. Finished the night off with some green eggs and ham @ IHOP.

I may be just a little excited...

I got my acceptance at 1am...who sends out notifications that late?! Congrats to all and good luck to all of those still waiting!
 
I got my email at 11:05 EST, last name C first name K. OOS. I guess they just sent them out in waves, with no pattern i can figure out. I'm shocked because I thought I did horribly on some of those scenarios as well. I'm so happy to see so many of you getting in, this is great! And for those who haven't heard, don't worry, they clearly didn't send them all at once. Good luck!

Congrats everyone! I got accepted too! Blacksburg and Hokie football for another 4 years-woohoo! So excited to meet everyone!
