Hey guys. I have the opportunity of volunteering at Loma Linda University Medical Center. I thought this was a good idea since I am planning on applying to Loma Linda School of Dentistry. If they see I volunteered at their hospital it might help me stick out.
The catch is I would be doing things like childcare or delivering supplies to doctors. It won't have anything to do with my future profession. So my question is would it be better to volunteer at Loma Linda Hospital, or at a Dental Clinic?

I think you kind of answered it yourself. If you haven't been able to find a dental clinic to volunteer at, I still think volunteering at a hospital is a good experience. I would recommend trying to find a role that you interact with patients instead of moving boxes around.

A dental clinic is hands down your best bet and try to find one that will allow you to work as an assistant.

Does the hospital have a dental clinic? If yes try to get a job associated with them. Otherwise go for the more relevant experience which is dental clinic.

I would definitely go with dental clinic. I volunteered at a hospital and several admission committees found it opposing my future career as a dentist and believed I had thoughts of pursuing medicine than dental during my time of application. Shadowing a dental clinic will be very useful over all, no matter what you do in the hospital, unless the hospital has a dental department where you can shadow.
