Volunteer/Clinical Exp help

I am not sure how local this forum is but I am looking into a volunteer/intern position with clinical experience in Los Angeles (West LA) anyone have suggests?

So far I got recommended Cedar Sinai, UCLA, Barlow and Collegiate.

This is what I did:

I went online and searched for medical clinics, particularly those that served the indigent. I then called and emailed folks at various places, explained to them my goals and arranged as many meetings as I could.

With that I was able to secure two very good volunteer positions that involve great patient contact. From one of those volunteer positions I met a nice Dr. who referred me to his buddy, so now I have a great shadowing experience. Also one of the clinics I work at says I can shadow a doctor if I like.

So, that is my two cents.

What else should i get started on in terms of ECs besides volunteer?

If you can drive up to the Valley then Clinical Care Extenders at Valley Presbyterian is a great program.
