Okay so I have a 3.98 GPA, I haven't take the DAT but I will be soon. I have worked as an RA for three years and have been heavily involved in leadership in my campus ministry as well as multiple honor societies. I have 100 shadowing hours but only 35 volunteer hours just because I haven't had that much time. What should I shoot for? Would you suggest getting more hours and not submitting my application until July as opposed to in June?

Thanks!

From what I understand, it won't help you that much to cram in a bunch of volunteer hours right before you apply. When looking at volunteering, admissions like to see a pattern of service throughout the last few years because it shows you do it for the right reasons and not just for the application.

Do what you can to volunteer of course, but don't delay your application because of it.

I read somewhere it's quality versus quantity. Meaning what you learned from each experience and how it changed you.
I would shoot to more than 50 as a start, 100 is an ideal. Many students get a lot of volunteering hours. I think I have 60 so far. I hope I get them to 100 before I apply.

I did all my volunteering hours In the months leading up to the application. If it's something that will benefit you come interviewing time there's no harm doing it.
