I know what shadowing is, but how do you find volunteer opportunities in dentistry?

Volunteer at a free clinic or in some kind of program that gives free or low-cost dental care to the uninsured and underserved....if u need ideas of particular places in ur area do a search on the net or email the dean if there is a dental school in ur state...most of the time they are helpful and willing to guide u.

This is definately the best way to start. You could also look for a group that travels abroad to provide dentistry. I went with AYUDA (just google it). Not only is the abroad experience interesting and helpful but it introduces you to dentists who are volunteer minded and could help you network with other volunteer oppurtunities in your particular area.
