What is the consensus on listing work and volunteer experiences? I started listing everything from med school as well as undergrad and the list seems to be getting long and more remote in time, particularly with volunteer experiences. I've decided to trim it down a bit by listing only the most significant or relevant items. Is this appropriate, or should I pull out my AMCAS application and reinstate all those experiences?

Thanks for any input.

My personal opinion would be to only list relevant items. I'm not sure undergrad experiences, especially, would be of any significance unless it was directly, or closely, related to medicine. In medical school I think the experiences could be a little more broad, but I still wouldn't list every detail as that is likely to appear as though you're padding your application. Just my opinions....

I wouldn't list anything from undergrad, unless it was an activity continued into medical school (research and the like). No one wants to hear about anyone's volunteering in the ER or time at the soup kitchen spent for the sake of medical school.
