Work experience = Non-paid clinical and non-paid teaching?

Per ERAS: "Clinical and Teaching experience should be treated as Work experiences." So are free clinics part of work experience? I'm confused.

I would generally consider work experience to only include things you were paid for.

Whether you include it in work experience or volunteer experience is up to you. The only difference is the order in which it's sorted in the file given to programs.
