Volunteer work

Other than the obvious volunteer work at hospitals and labs, can I include hours of volunteering in clubs and organizations? Essentially my question is: do they care about these? I am going to be volunteering to set up and work our Haunted House for my University's Honors College Student Association. Should I take down all these hours I give to this organization and would it go on my app? Thanks all!

I would not call that "volunteer" but you could call it leadership or membership or something like that. Volunteer usually means helping those who are unable to help themselves although some volunteer work is removed from direct service such as organizing fundraisers for charities that provide direct services.

I'm not sure setting up a haunted house will make any difference to your application. But yes, you can include any "volunteer" or "extracurricular" work you've done.
