Okay, not sure what is going on with my verbal scores. Retaking the MCAT on Friday and I've been taking AAMC FL's (I only did 4 before my first MCAT) to prepare. I have one left which I will take tomorrow or Thursday, but I just took AAMC 7 and I'm so confused.

Here are my verbal scores to date:
AAMC 3: 7 (before studying or knowing what the test was like at all, I think I ran out of time?)
AAMC 11: 10
AAMC 9: 9
AAMC 4: 9
Real MCAT May 31st: 7 (womp, hence the retake)
AAMC 10: 9
AAMC 5: 10 (I took this yesterday)
AAMC 7 : 6 (taken today)

seriously, wtf? how do I go from a 10 to a 6 overnight? I thought that the drop in my real MCAT from my practice scores were due to nerves, but I didn't feel nervous taking VR7 today and it was in the same setting as yesterday. How do my scores keep changing so much? Is it all down to luck with whatever passages/questions I get? Does this happen to anyone else?

Seriously, all I want is a 9. And I'm taking this MCAT on Friday whether I feel good or not. I hate verbal. My BS/PS scores have been consistent ALL tests, it just seems to be verbal that isn't working. Any ideas?

Taking exams at the same time each day? Feel like you are at the same level of alertness for each exam? Sleep well before each exam?

Do a content analysis. Were the topics more abstract to what you were used to? Feel like you understood the main ideas but were thrown off by some small nuance that changes the whole scope?

Personally, don't let this drain your confidence. This exam is a test of confidence. Did you find yourself experiencing elevated anxiety? Or talking to yourself too much? Many times when anxiety sets in, the brain can reach a point of cognitive shut down and emotion gets amplified. What do you do to maintain composure?

I have been struggling with anxiety this summer, and that's probably what it is, I guess I just don't notice it during the test. I'm hoping that since the majority of my VR scores are not terrible, I will be able to churn out a good one on Friday. I guess that's all I can do. 🙁

Wear a heart monitor through your exams. See if higher heart rate = lower score.

You can ask the God of the universe to help you 🙂

sounds like you just choked. Either that, or you were too confident and made silly mistakes. This section requires an insane amount of focus
