I was in a procedure today in the IR suite with a neuropsychologist, where the interventional neuroradiologist injected brevital through a femoral cath into a woman's internal carotid to "stun" neural activity in the respective hemisphere, upon which the neuropsychologist did a battery of cognitive tests.

Is there any aspect of this that would involve a neuropsychiatrist? I interviewed at programs that had DBS programs for various ailments, but I havn't heard of many "interventional" things in psych other than this. What other spacey weird things are there?

Amytal interviews for suspected conversion disorder.

In the future probably ketamine infusions for refractory depression.

In hospice care we used to use thorazine via subcutaneous pumps for terminal delirium pt's.
