i am trying to collect my lors and my instructors ask me what i want them to emphasize on? does any one have any suggestions for writing a good recommendation letter? also do i need to gather it from my professors or do they need to send it to dental school directly?

As far as what to emphasize, just think of what your pros are and tell them about them. Give them an idea of what you do for extracurriculars.

You don't send LORs to dental schools. You send them (or get them sent) to AADSAS and AADSAS will distribute them to schools....

I haven't seen what LORs look like, but I imagine things talked about like:
-your performance in class when to compared to class average
-how you handled the class (i.e did you use office hours properly? did you always ask for help when you needed it? etc)
-Did you do anything outside of the classroom to stand out (formed study groups with classmates)
-Did the professon learn about you on a personal level? (outside of the class room stuffs, like why you became interested in dentistry, why you believe dentistry is perfect fit, etc etc)
