There's still hope for waitlisters! I got into a school I was waitlisted at 🙂
I hope you all will be getting lucky soon too.
Congrats! This is a long and stressful process and I'm glad you got admitted off the waitlist so early. Hopefully everyone else in this thread gets similar luck.

2 officially, 1 assumed (silence 6 months post interview now), waiting to hear from 2 more that will likely be waitlists at best since they were super late interviews.

So in my head, I'm on 5. But only two on paper lol

2 officially, 1 hold for spring, and 1 decision pending since September

Only one waitlist for me (well, technically not even a waitlist, the waitlist for the waitlist), but I'm still waiting to hear back from another school.

2 waitlists for me as well but I feel pretty good about VCU because they typically have a lot of OOS movement.

2 WL as well!!! Both schools according to MSAR have fairly little waitlist movement which sucks but there is some hope~

2 waitlists. 0 acceptances. 2 April interviews coming up.

How many waitlists are you guys on?
5 waitlists, 1 silent presumed waitlist coming up mid April. Granted, 4 are from schools where my GPA is 10th percentile or lower so I'm glad I had the opportunity to take a stab at 'em.

It's surreal to consider that I almost didn't apply to that one school to which I've been accepted - and how differently I would feel right now if I hadn't.

I know schools can see if you've been accepted, but can they also see if you've been waitlisted anywhere? I'm joining this party with 2 WL myself.

I think that schools that have accepted you can see where else you are accepted. And tomorrow, schools that have wait listed you will see where you have been accepted and wait listed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

With the acceptance deadline soon upon us, and the National Acceptance and Alternates (waitlist) reports are available tomorrow, there will be movement starting on the waitlists very soon

Looking for feedback, please, just joined. Waitlisted at 3/3 of Texas schools I interviewed (applied to only 4). And now have been waitlisted at only other school I received interview at, outside of TX. Took the new-style MCAT and got a 521, equivalent to about a 40 on old-style MCAT, with 3.76 BCPM GPA and 3.75 overall GPA. Am 40 yrs old. Already have Ph.D. in biochem, with 9 published papers (3 in preparation/submitted). Did apply late: 09/30/15 for TX, 10/13/15 for AMCAS. Even contacted some of my interviewers and they told me that they gave me a good recommendation. Honestly cannot figure out how I only got waitlisted.... Do not come across as arrogant in person, but honestly felt I was strong candidate

That late application probably really hurt you. Do you have clinical experience? Volunteering? Shadowing?

I have volunteering experience back from my undergrad days at 2 different hospitals in the ER departments. And have interacted and collaborated with MDs in my research career for years now. I knew that late application, lack of recent volunteering/shadowing, and age could hurt me but didn't think it would set me back this much.

Are you a Texas resident or OOS?
If OOS, then cheer up, it's really hard to get into TX schools without being a resident, 3 interviews out of 4 apps is great. I am OOS, got 4 interviews out of 5 TX apps, which resulted into 4 waitlists, and I got into one last week. The cycle is not over yet, you still might get in.
If IS, I don't know exactly how the system works after match, but I'm assuming there will be lots of waitlist movement in April and May, especially for IS people.

As far as your description of yourself goes... Even though your MCAT is stellar, your GPA is pretty low, though if that's from when you were in your 20s I don't see why that would be a big deal. The biggest problem in your app (in my opinion) is how late it came in. If you have to reapply, do it very early. As in, if you're reapplying in Texas, submit as close to May 1st as possible. For AMCAS, within the first week of June.

So do most schools wait for the WL reports before starting to fill their class? Is there an incentive to waiting for the reports? Only scenario that I could envision is perhaps accepting a student after they submitted a LOI after seeing they've been waitlisted at more than 1 school..otherwise, why wait until the report comes out?

Since when is a 3.75 a low GPA??

Yeah I'm betting it was a late app combined with lack of recent clinical experience.

A 3.75 GPA is not low.

5 II's, 4 waitlists including my top choice school (where the waitlist doesn't move).

3 official waitlists, 3 pending or assumed. Blegh. This is the part where the waiting becomes absolutely excruciating.

Just got my third waitlist today. Thats all I have.

Being on waitlists with no acceptances suck but keep positive, guys. This is the month that they should start moving soon!! Plus the weather's getting nicer

The 3rd one was rough but post interview rejections are worse. I look at it now like I have a chance. I would just like to know before I have to re-apply but I know that doesnt always happen.

Joining the WL club. Currently on 2 WL with one pending post-II decision. May 1st needs to hurry up!

Some schools take a lot of their class from their waitlists, and you have 3 shots of still getting in! I'd like to know WL results right away too but I've also started planning my reapplication. Sometimes it's good to be prepared just in case. And I want to prevent my last cycle's mistake of submitting late. Best of luck to you!

6 interviews, 5 waitlists (and 1 acceptance) LOL. One of them has to pull through right?

Is anyone sending in LOI (interest, intent) and/or having people send in letters of recommendation/email/ calling on your behalf?

I sent a letter of intent/update letter back in like late January/early February to my waitlist school. If I get on the actual waitlist this month, I might send another letter of intent (not sure...when I sent the first LOI it was totally 100% genuine, but now I'm so excited about Cincinnati that I'm not sure if I wanna stay in Cleveland for another 4 years...)

Edit: yeah I should include that my school specifically said, if we don't hear from you after being put on post-interview hold in the form of an update letter or LOI, we'll assume you're no longer interested.

I have! My WL school has told me that they view people more favorably who send in updates, show interest, and just keep in touch. I've sent 3 updates and in each one I talked about different reasons why I feel the school is a good fit for me. One was also a letter of intent. I'm planning on sending another update/interest letter next week after I present my research

I sent one the week after being put on the waitlist at my dream school (January). It was a letter of intent, and completely genuine. But not I can't decide if I should write another letter or if since I already did the whole intent thing that I shouldn't say anything else.
