I am waiting for interviews. Is it a good idea to write them letter?

Yes, absolutely. Write something substantive to each school you are genuinely interested in. If you can express legitimate interest it doesn't hurt to have something to add to your application.

Is it enough to just express interest or do you need some kind of update with these kinds of letters? I have nothing really new to add to my application but I'm planning to write to a few schools just to tell them how cool they are and why we should be together forever. Does it seem a bit lame if I dedicate a letter solely for expressing interest?

It boggles me that they plan to interview so many people in January and February, and have their decisions by March! I think it's going to be a crazy two months, but here's to hoping for more interview for all of us! 🙂
