As an answer to an earlier question, there is a lot of Malaysian students since UCD and RCSI helped build a school in Malaysia (on Penang Island, which is a warm tourist resort). I did an elective on Penang back when I was a resident. I can see why the Irish profs don't mind going there for a break from Irish dampness.
As a footnote, I am still waiting to hear for acceptance/decline from Trinity (it has been about 10 years now since I sent off my application, and still nothing. I am glad I went with the offer from UCD instead of waiting for Trinity.
