I am in a tough situation. I am lacking in the clinical volunteering and research, but starting this summer I will be greatly enhancing those areas of my application. Basically, I will be doing research 40 hours/week starting the 1st week of June, and about 8 hours/week of clinical volunteering at the same time. I currently have about 50 hours of volunteer tutoring, 30 hours of research, 135 hours of clinical/OR shadowing, 50 hours of work as a TA for gen bio, a few mission trips (one as a leader for middle-schoolers), about 150 hours of paid tutoring, about 300 hours of working in the office of a home health care company, and thousands of hours of DIII football. Stats at time of application will be close to 3.66/3.68 cGPA/sGPA and estimated 32-35 MCAT.
I am sitting for the May 31st MCAT, and I know it is possible to get amcas verified without the MCAT score. However, I am worried that my small amount of research and clinical volunteering will hurt me. Would it be worth it to wait to submit primary amcas until the end of june so I can add about 160 research and 40 clinical volunteer hours, or will the delay in verification cause more harm than good?
Thanks for any advice you can give.
