Waiting to send transcript to include summer courses?

Hey SDN,

I apologize if this question has already been addressed. If so, please inform me on where I can find this information.

In short, I am applying for the '13-14 cycle. I am very determined to submit my primaries on the very first day that AAMC opens, as I am a rather "average" student. However, I will be taking 2 summer courses in which final exams will be administered on June 21st, delaying my primary application.

Would it be best to submit my primaries, and then update them with my last 2 grades after? If so, what would be the procedure, and would there be any consequences?

How much will those 2 classes affect your GPA? If the change is minuscule I don't think it's worth it to submit your primary almost a month after you could have.

Unless they will take you over one of the psychological lines, like 3.68 to 3.70 or 3.79 to 3.80, don't wait. Submit it as early as possible.

Oh, and there is no universal way to update the schools through AMCAS. It all has to be done through the individual schools and each school will have their own policy regarding updates.
