Hi everyone. I interviewed at a school and am on the waitlist now. After attending the interview and thinking a lot, I realized that I really do not want to go to it for multiple reasons. I have no acceptances at this time, but if I got into this particular school I would not want to go there. I want to withdraw from the waitlist. If i have to reapply next year, would other medical schools know that I withdrew from a waitlist? Would this be a red flag? Thank you.

For schools to communicate at that level brings the sin of collusion into play.

what if you were accepted off of a waitlist and ultimately decline it? would that information be visible to other medical schools in a reapplication and potentially cause issues in future cycles?
No, but at this point in time, why would you want to be on the waitlist at that school? Give someone else a chance to get an acceptance if you wouldn't take it.

I thought schools can see if an applicant has gotten any acceptances in prior cycles. I thought that would cause issues if you re-applied.

A WL is not an acceptance.
If you truly do not want to attend this school, remove yourself from the WL now and don’t apply there next year either. Lots of people who languished on WLs reapply
