Has there been any movement on the HPSP waitlists for Army or Navy recently? Was anyone offered an HPSP and either accepted or declined it?

The Army recruiter called me up a few weeks back and said the OML was being activated this month, but not sure how he knew that or what that means for me.

I actually just finished applying for the Army's HPSP and was told that even though it was for the 4 yr scholarship I will be placed on the OML. I knew this because of how late I am and now hoping for the 3 yr that starts in October.

Last time I spoke to my Army recruiter, she said that there are 54 people on the OML as of late June. So chances of getting off the OML and receiving a 4 yr is slim.

I am also on the Navy's HPSP alternate list as well. Also, I spoke with my recruiter for the Navy and he said that there was word of possibly having 20 or so HPSP Scholarships in October for the class of 2016 applicants. You would be reimbursed tuition as long as you commission before the end of the first semester, but would not receive back pay for the stipend for the months in the semester that you had not yet commission.

Interesting. I wonder how many people are on the Navy alternate list if they're only taking 20. And did the Army say how many they're gonna accept for 3 year spots in October?

Army will have roughly 35 3 yr scholarships next year. Same amount as this year.
