Here are my stats:

University: UMES
Major: Exercise Science, Clinical Concentration, graduated in December 2017
GPA: 3.7
Pre-Req GPA: 3.5
GRE: 150v 148q 4.0w

Extra Curric: Outpatient PT tech (1 year), Procedure room assistant in physician's office (2.5 years), Secretary of Kinesiology Club in undergrad, participated in department research studies, honors program student

Volunteer: 1000+ hours in outpatient setting (orthopedic, pediatrics, lymphedema, women's health, work hardening), 25 hours aquatics, 25 hours inpatient/hospital setting

I had interviews at two schools, one in September (UMES) and one in October (UMD Baltimore). I have been waitlisted at Baltimore and have not heard anything from UMES since calling them in early December and being told that my application is still being considered. The waiting game is driving me nuts, so I was wondering if I could get some of your opinions on what you think my chances are of getting accepted with my current stats. I know I probably need to get more inpatient hours, or maybe sub-acute setting hours and I've been thinking about retaking the GRE. Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly, no one will really know your chances of getting in. The whole admissions process is so confusing, I don't even think the admissions committee even knows who they're going to select until they do. AND EVEN THEN, they still won't know. I got a call from a school saying I was rejected, but then they changed their mind and offered me an interview a couple days after. :wtf: As crazy as the waiting game makes you (and all of us), try to relax and keep your mind occupied while waiting for their decision.

Like PTisLIFE, we can't tell you for sure what your chances are of getting in. I've got similar stats to yours and tbh, I didn't know if I was going to get in when I compared them to everyone else on this site, but I got accepted into two schools this cycle compared to none (wait listed at 3) last cycle. It seems like it's kind of a crapshoot. If you don't get in this year, I'd say maybe re-take your GRE's, but other than that, everything else on your resume looks really good. You got multiple settings under your belt and a good GPA. Just make sure when you do get those interviews, practice as much as you can and you'll be good. 🙂
