Barry started waitlist around Easter last year, but at least a handful of ppl who were waitlisted ended up being offered fall matriculation. Some people put in deposits at multiple pod schools while they decide, and others who deposited will cancel for various reasons (financial, family, work, etc).
Temple has class size significantly larger than Barry, so I'd think you'll be ok if you are top 10-15 on the list? You could to ask other applicants and the Temple admissions staff to find out your approx waitlist number. GL
Temple is NOT filled for those of you reading this thread and unsure of whether to apply or be concerned about seat availability.
OP.. what r your stats?
hmm...interesting. The literature Temple sent me stated that their avg. gpa for matriculants is 3.3 (3.1 science).
And they still have spots open!?!?
Did you not have any research experience, clinical xp, volunteering hours, leadership xp, or even shadow a pod?
If you have all of those, then I must assume you proved yourself to be a very awkward social misfit during the interview or perhaps your personal statement was simply "I like podiatry! A LOT! PLEASE let me into your school. Feet are hot."
That would probably kill any good app.
but in all seriousness...I hope you get in. Good luck to you..
Yo Chopstix,
Were you impressed with Temple? Anyone else hear have anything good or bad to mention about Temple? I've got my last interview there this week! Wahoo. I actually really like what I've heard about it there.
if I recall correctly, temple's admissions does require 1 letter from a pod and another from any medical professional.
This is a good point. I was going to have the pod i've been shadowing for 60+ hours write me one and my 2nd cousin write me one (I have a very close family and she has a different last name. she is a MD and she promised to make it the best LOR EVER! lol.)
I didn't find anything saying that family (a 2nd cousin isn't immediate family anyways) can not write your LORs. Plus, she told that she will include the 4days I spent at hospice with her. I'll take another 100 shadowing hours!
But most pod schools only require 1 LOR from a pod anyways
Hmm... I guess I can send in a letter from a DO that I shadowed a couple of years ago. I just don't see the point of getting a letter from a health care professional other than a podiatrist.
