I got waitlisted to a couple schools near my home but accepted into one of the top schools in the country... The schools near me are much lower ranking...
The problem i run into is I would still rather go near my home because I would be saving a lot of money.. But the school I got into starts class in June, while i could be on the waitlist for the other schools till August... Is it possible to still commit and start school with the higher ranked school but then dropout? if i were to be accepted to the other schools later on in the semester?

Yep, you can do this. I know of someone personally who did this and was glad to make the switch although the original school was a little miffed. Have you contacted the wait list school to see if there is any information they can give you?

Would you have to worry about loans particularly for your summer session?

1. rankings don't matter
2. yes you can enter in to a program and then drop out to attend another, one of my classmates did this the first semester but pretty sure he did not get tuition back from the first university so he lost a good amount of money there.
3. As for loans, it shouldn't be a problem since its grad school but you may want to research that to see what allotment you can take out per year etc.

I agree with the above, I would call and see if you could find out your status on the waitlist...but if by June you are not in and you believe PT is your passion I would definitely go to the school you ave been accepted to.
