Last year I interviewed at NYMC and got waitlisted. This year I have interviewed at a number of schools that rejected me pre-interview last year, but the one school that granted me an interview last year has had my file under review since Jan 10. Is anyone in a similar situation. I thought an interview last year would most certainly mean an interview this year, given that I improved in every facet of my application. I would like your suggestions on the matter.

Some schools are cool, some suck. The same deal happened to me (improved GPA, greatly improved MCAT, nearly a year of quality shadow time under a surgeon, etc..., yet no interview). There are no guarantees. Just be happy you interviewed at the schools you did and say piss on the one that has you on hold.

Be happy it wasn't your alma mater. UF, my undergrad, is the one that did this to me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

nope, each year is independant of the other. and the process is somewhat random anyways.

Hey Blazed, the same crap happened to me... was waitlisted at NYMC and temple last year, and didn't get interviews this years, even though i got interviews (and acceptances) at 'better' schools. don't sweat it man, this process is so freakin random, nobody should have to go through it.

ahhhhhhhhhhh, nothing in this blasted process is "guaranteed."

Thanks for responding everyone I really appreciate your opinions on the matter. It is good to know that I am not the only one going through this stressful ordeal.

Believe me you are not the only one going through this stressful ordeal! I too am waitlisted at 3 schools that I really want to go to.

Good Luck!
