WAKE up where?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
there's a nice Comfort Inn on Miller street (i think) right near the med school w/ a shuttle to the school and everything. really close, really nice. don't remember the price, but i didn't get the interivewee discount because of the seasonal leaves-changing-colors tourism bullsh*t, anyway.

its a good place, though 👍

Best place to stay for a Wake Forest interview? And remember...I'm frugal. 😀

Stay at any of the places they recommend. I stayed at the Hawthorne and it was $59. Other interviewees stayed at the Salem Inn for $55. Parking at the school is $3.25 for the whole day.

the hawthorne is good and they have a shuttle to the med center.

Comfort Inn is definitely the closest. It's pretty nice too, free breakfast and everything. $75 with medical discount.

My house. 😀

Thanks for the invite.

The Comfort Inn seems like my best bet. I wonder if they shuttle to and from l'airport.

I asked the admissions office to pair me up with a student host. Always the cheapest and gives you some perspective on student life.

I just stayed at the Comfort Inn on Monday. It was nice. Shuttle was great. Try to get there early. It took me about 15 minutes to find the admissions office and it took me 40 minutes to find my way back... because I got lost 😳

what is the city of winston-salem like?

is it like a real city or more of a small town?

I went to Wake undergrad from 97-01 and it has gotten a lot better since even since I graduated. They are working on the downtown and seems like it is going pretty well.
It certainly is not a big city feel, but I don't think small town suits it either. an enigma I guess......
what do people do in W-S? eat out all of the time, go see movies, go to the mall, bars/clubs, some art museum stuff, and the undergrad always has something cultural to offer
