For those of you who work for Walgreens... our store "delete" numbers are horrible. If we delete before they reach the "delete aged rx" screen, will we beat the system? I'm thinking of starting to delete at 9 days so they never make the list. Will that work, or will the metrics still recognize them as deleted? Thanks!!

The 7 day call list is what brings down deletes.

Are you referring to the idea that the 7 day call list prompts people to come pick up? I'm referring to rx's that won't be picked up - the $300 viagra, things not covered by insurance, auto fills that the patient doesn't need or want. Surely not every "delete" is counted against the store. For example, if a patient brings in a new rx, we run it and it's not covered by insurance so they decide not to get - we delete it and hand it back to them. Now that delete certainly wouldn't be counted against the store's metrics, would it? At what point does it? If I have my techs delete proactively by date filled, before they reach the "delete aged rx" list, will our delete numbers improve? This is aside from trying to get them sold and out the door.... of course that improves the numbers. Any help would be appreciated!

My understanding is any prescription that makes it to the 7 day call list will then be tracked to see if it is deleted. We are trying to sell 50% of the prescriptions on the 7 day call list. In your scenario, deleting on day 9 would be unfavorable since it already made it to day 7. Working the 7 day reminder call list would help get them sold.

Ahhh this makes sense. Well, as always it seems like the straight and narrow path will prevail. Drats!!

Also, if you get a "refill too soon" and it's not really due for another 2 weeks but insurance will allow in 3 days, store it. For instance, if you get a new rx sent in and you get a RTS rejection saying it'll go thru on 12/27, but pt just picked up on 12/10. If you fill it on 12/27, it'll sit in the bins for more than 12 days and end up being returned to stock. When pt requests a refill, it'll go to message queue saying similar drug in hold on
