Anyone works at Walgreens in SF? I just want to know the good and bad areas there. I hear 4th street is tough. What's the working condition like there? Is the salary pay comfortable to live in such an expensive city?

Looking to be familiar with the area there and possibly having a few connections before I fly out there.

They just conducted a meeting yesterday actually informing us that the 2nd week of april the new budget will be published and lots of jobs will be eliminated. They're offering either severance packages or the highway (or you can apply to the CPO which they want 400 people at). So if you want to work for walgreens, try going by their CPO in Miami Lakes for a job. They also offer at-home positions, but I'm pretty sure those were all taken the first day.

Good luck.

Edit: I just realized you could've meant San Fran. I'm thinking you're talking about South Florida because there's a store on 4th street. Ignore me if you're talking about CA

This is sad indeed. Walgreen has the highest profit margin of the all the national chains -- 2%, compared to 1% or less for the others.

This is what happens when somebody plays with $4 Rx ploy when a script cost $11 + drug $ to fill. Everybody's forced into the price war, and everybody loses. 😡

Walgreens is not expanding as fast anymore. It is making some major cuts. I hear a few months ago that POWER will be coming to California in spring but it is now spring. Maybe summer?
