Hello I recently interviewed with CVS Omnicare for a part time position. The interviewer knows that I currently work full time at walgreens, and there is no CVS policy stating that this is a conflict of interest. He is perfectly fine with me working at Walgreens retail and Omicare. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Walgreen's policy in terms of me working part time at Omnicare? Thanks.

Don’t ask, don’t tell.

If it were me, I would be safe to double check with the employer who I have a full time commitment with. The interviewer for the part-time position is aware and okay with it but it really is a conflict of interest for WAG, then you risk losing your full-time job for a part-time by breaking your contract.

Are you 100% about not being a CVS policy with conflict of interest? I'm almost positive that I read a policy when I was leaving CVS for Walgreens, because I wanted to stay on long enough to collect my bonus (good joke). I'm not going to search the world for that info again because it was damn hard to find but I would just double check that if I were you

Hmmm, maybe because Omnicare is long-term, and not directly competing with Walgreen's retail? I mean chains don't have a problem with pharmacists working as hospital pharmacists (even if the hospital has it's own retail pharmacy,) so I'm guessing this is the same scenario? But best course of action is to get it in writing.

Let's add a wrinkle to the scenario for modern times.

What if the kid is only getting 16-24 hours a week at Wags and it's impractical to poach extra shifts due to commute distance. The grocery chain needs a PT pharmacist for the stores close to the kid's home...

I know as a Walgreens tech/intern, they don't allow you working at any other pharmacy, so I doubt it is any different for pharmacists. Ask rxm or dm.

it sucks how times have changes - I had a full time hospital gig and worked prn for both Walgreens, CVS, and a staffing company at the same time
