So, the schedule has been published two months in advance and it’s completely different from store template. I am scheduled 5 days straight on different occasions; closing on the days I am supposed to open and I am scheduled more days per pay period than I would normally work.

When I emailed the scheduler I was basically told they will change the schedule however they see fit. I talked to my friend and he said the same thing too. He is scheduled more days sometimes and his shifts are split to accommodate salaried floaters.

Is anyone else having the same issue? I am a quiet person normally but this is bull&@@“@! The whole point of having your own store is the stability of fixed schedule so you can plan your life around. If I am not gonna get the set schedule at my own store, then I might as well become a floater; same pay and no responsibility!

They are clearly taking advantage of the whole situation. We don’t give a f- about you. If you won’t do it, we will find someone else.

Next time when they beg to cover emergency shifts, I know what I will tell them.

Unless you have PTOs approved they can do whatever they want with your schedule. The template is just there to make the scheduler’s job easier. Heck, in rare cases even some manager pharmacists have been asked to change their PTOs because of “emergency business need.”

My schedule has not changed yet. I am scheduled to work 7 days every 2 weeks (80 hours).

At my district, they got rid of the scheduler position. Now we have a one scheduler located in another state that is scheduling across multiple districts! I mean more than 5 districts. Each district having 10+ stores!

In fact across 4 years, I have personally done multiple templates (because the other manager is completely incompetent at making a fair schedule) to account for the cannon fodder split between 2 stores, but my templates have never actually been implemented because of MHWD objections to 3-day weekends or the other pharmacists being useless whiners.

I know we in retail whine all the time but at least come up with a solution alongside the whining or STFU. If floaters don't want to be a RXM or a staff pharmacist any of these floaters can STFU, GTFO, whatever

Currently we still use the previous failed manager's idiotic 8-days-in-a-row template.

In our store we have established template that has always been followed.

But now all of a sudden, everything goes out of the window in the name of business need. Just scheduling you whenever, however.. When your regular pharmacist goes on a vacation, your opening shifts become closing shifts since it’s much easier to find coverage for the opening shifts. Instead of working 12 hour shift, you are scheduled 7 hours on one day and 5 hours on another. And no decency to even ask: hey Chrish would you be able to work extra day this pay period?

They are doing it out in the open. Like they know that retail rphs need them. They don’t need us. Wm has turned into shi##y place for a while now, but this is new all-time low.

As staff there are days I’m templated in my store and now I’m floating over an hour away and a floater who lives over an hour away is covering my shift. The same floater who lives the same distance as me from the store I’m being forced to float at...

Our scheduler is responsible for over 200 stores across our region. And they do a damn good job from my perspective and most seem to agree.

You know I used to care about travel mileages that floaters would submit at my store. Majority of them put more mileages than they are supposed to.

But at this point? You can submit $500 travel voucher for driving 15 miles and I wouldn’t say anything. Why should I give a f-? It’s not my money and company doesn’t care about me despite watching over their every penny.

I used to work at CVS several years ago but I totally agree with you. If you are a fixed staff pharmacist, the RxM manager at that store should have the privilege to make their schedule with the staff and have the regional scheduler fill in the gaps with floaters. They really don't give a F*** lol

My MHWD is pretty chill with the schedule as long our scripts and sale are up with happy customers, and things are done as she expected. We do 4-day weekends at our store.

When I worked retail I never had a single problem. Even when I worked at wags..

At both major chains that I worked at I worked with a team of 3 pharmacists - we never even looked at the schedulers schedule. We would just make our own and trade shifts among us. We pwned it

It’s either about safety or about business needs..

Safety..really? Let’s give all these guys 12 hour days with such an inefficient system. So much for safety right?

It can def be done, but man it is draining!

Are you a single coverage store? I would guess not....since your "accommodating" floaters? either way thats crappy, i gotta go look at workforce now and see whats up...lol

That is pretty ass backwards. Floaters should just take whatever's available.

8-hour shifts with built-in unpaid lunch is kind lame in California but works for these slug excuse for pharmacists.

What happened to all those 56/pay period hires?

What happens normally is the schedule gets published and you take it or leave it. If you actually getting hrs how are you complaining in this job climate

This is fireable offense, why would anyone dumb enough to do that for $20 more?

People steal donuts and sodas. Why would anyone be dumb enough to risk their job for things worth couch change?

At Wm you will get popped for stealing essentially. Misrepresenting your mileage to gain money is immediate termination. IF your caught.... it's hard now because we run so chaotic, lean and scheduling is so fouled up along with every other system, this is all experimental.....you could probably get away with it for a long time before someone caught on.2-3 years ago, not as much...

How do people lie about mileage? At Walmart if the store is farther than your home store you calculate the mileage from your store to the store you’re going in. Can’t really fudge that.

If you go back and check the last 10 travel vouchers for your store, I can bet 8 of them were incorrectly. There is this floater who comes to our store whose home store is 10 miles away; and she gets $30 something each time she comes in. No way in hell she is doing it right. And this is just one example.

I don’t recommend it but it’s your job you are taking a chance with; and it’s company’a money, not mine.

It would be a pretext to easily get rid of someone. If you get can fired for giving someone an OTC aspirin at CVS the same can happen at Walmart

Yeah it’s one of the most visible expense that surprisingly gets ignored.

The only reason I can think of why they aren’t being strict about it is that might detract people from helping with emergency shifts.

Haley’s having pregnancy complications at Friday evening and she can’t come in on Saturday. Market director who was enjoying vodka now has to beg people to find last minute coverage on a Friday night. Tom, who lives an hour away is willing to cover the shift tomorrow. Now, you don’t wanna argue with Tom if he submits 60 miles instead of 50 because it might piss him off and next time he would tell you to f- yourself.

etc.

Now we have to explain every S3G excursion and even GNFR orders get questioned

Basically if they want to make a big deal out of it and get rid of people they will. But so far it's a lot of talk and no action even with opioid stewardship, at least where I work. TBH the next time it happens to anyone I know will be the first. WM doesn't even want to get rid of slag techs for ETA'ing time not actually worked

Yeah I can definitely see that as a reason. It sucks because management has the upperhand here... They need to cut back on hours and need to get rid of an employee.... Tom submits 60 miles instead of 50. Director wants to pretend he just now discovered Tom is stealing corporate money by submitting wrong mileage. Tom is now unemployed.

Market director doesn’t decide who they need to get rid of when hours are short. In fact, even regional doesn’t decide that. It comes directly from HR. They give them a list and market director just acts as a messenger.

The point is that they have the evidence to use to get rid of people whenever they need to if they do this.

The reality is, mileage aside, they have 12 different ways to nail ANY given employee regardless. If they want to, they could dig up enough dirt on anyone to fire them.

Yeah my regional is coming tomorrow or Wednesday to tour with my market DM. Opioid stewardship. and NPS scoring is probably the hot topic, and Disney training. When they come it's gonna go one of two ways....we will have a fun learning experience, Some role playing, some go do's left over.....etc, or they will just start getting on your case for things, anything they can find....asking why this was not done earlier, and so on.... i dont expect the latter, but wish me luck!.....lol
