Hi all, I'd love advice on putting together a school list. Thanks in advance 🙂
California resident, white Jewish female.
MCAT Score: 517. C/P 128, CARS 127, B/B 131, P/S 131.
cGPA 3.8, upper divs only 3.9. Freshman 3.88→ sophomore 3.78 → junior 3.78→ senior 3.84
UCLA B.S in Biology, Departmental Awards. Dean’s Honors List, 6 Quarters. 1 Semester at Universitat de Barcelona, 1 quarter doing field research study in French Polynesia.
Hours:
~ 1,600 Clinical (EMT + brief stint Patient Care Tech)
~ 700 Volunteer (humanitarian aid in Southern borderlands, Red Cross Disaster Health Services, mutual aid free clinics, food distribution, immigrant support, and hospice volunteering)
~ 350 Research w/ 1 publication ( UCLA bacteria/virus wet lab, several different minor internships doing GIS and satellite imaging )
~ 40 Shadowing. Urgent Care, Female health Primary Care, GI surgery.
Part-time employment all through college to support myself (EMT, hostess, tutor, food service).
Extracurriculars: rock climbing team, intramural volleyball team, food co-op club. 3 solo through-hikes totaling 2000 miles (Pacific Crest Trail, Colorado Trail, Camino de Santiago).
Relevant interests for school list: Interest in OB/Gyn or ER specialty. Interest in humanitarian aid (Doctors Without Borders), rural care, expedition medicine, social justice focus. MD or DO. Not passionate about research. Really hoping to be in a place with good access to the outdoors.
Rough tentative list: need help narrowing it down + making sure I didn't miss anything!
