I get my MCAT score in a couple of weeks. Taking a gap year, but applying this cycle. I have hundreds of hours tutoring/teaching. hundreds of hours volunteering (handing out plates/packaging to community). president of clubs. Clinical 270 hrs. Shadowing ~ 46 hours in person. I want to have a person lined up to project hours on my app. I also have a clinical job that I will start in June. over 400 hours of research and a publication. presented at two conferences. I also have numerous awards and accolades.

My mcat goal score is anything above a 506. Let me know what you think. And I need an idea for school list. Alabama resident

We need an official MCAT score to recommend a school list. Update us in a few weeks and we should be able to help then. From what I read, as long as you get 50 hours total of shadowing in before you submit, you should be a very strong applicant for many schools given your MCAT is as predicted or better.

As long as your MCAT is 505 you will be competitive for your 2 Alabama MD schools . 513+ and you are competitive for most schools except state public schools that admit few non residents. Post your score here when available and I will recommend schools.

Made a 501 sadly. Retaking at the end of the month.

really? with a 501?
Yes, I have seen 2 URM applicants with your profile and stats admitted to Pittsburgh in the previous 2 years. You could also try some of your regional DO schools including ACOM, WCU-COM, VCOM (all 4 schools), NYIT-AR, UIWSOM, PCOM Georgia and South Georgia and CUSOM.

Thank you for your help!

I agree it's not impossible, especially if you had contact with the schools high on your wishlist. But check through Faha's suggestions. The HBCU med schools and the DO schools in the South will want to know about your distance traveled and how prepared you are for the next step. Definitely try to reach out to SNMA student officers at the schools on your list. National SNMA also usually hosts an occasional mentorship webinar.

I have great news!!! I improved by 6 points to a 507! Is there anymore schools I can add to my school list?
