Some more background: White, Auburn student
Clinical experience (volunteer):
220 hours as a hospice volunteer
200 hours as a volunteer MA in a free clinic
Research: 165 hours in a wet lab, no pubs/posters
Shadowing: 77 hours across IM, infectious disease, and urology
Nonclinical volunteering:
200 hours as a tutor for underserved Hispanic children
120 hours in Big brothers/big sisters program
100 hours volunteering at a soup kitchen
Hobbies:
Tennis (300 hours)
Jiu Jitsu (160)
Leadership:
75 hours as an ambassador for one of the student organizations
Teaching:
100 hours as a TA
I also worked part time in my father’s clinic (mostly clerical). (350+ hours)
I’m not sure how strong of an applicant I am for UAB since it looks like they’re research-focused, not so sure about South Alabama. Looking for some thoughts on where I stand
