WAMC (517/3.84) CA ORM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey guys, my new MCAT score comes out on June 11th. I've added some schools I am considering and others I will most likely apply to. It depends on my actual score, but I am highly that I felt really good on test day and optimistic that I did well. My WAMC content above is also updated. In addition to a higher MCAT, I also retook Preview (4 -> now 6) and Casper (results late June) so hopefully better SJT can help boost me too.

Interesting that a 4 preview is like 35th percentile and a 6 is a 75th percentile. Big jump despite only being 2 points out of 9.

Bro just 3 crowned the MCAT
The tower just fell over. What can I say? Thanks Pablo! Time to start looking at school lists. I see a suggested thread for my exact stats and demographics so I'll start there lolol

We're gonna need frequent updates

Congratulations on your new score
This time I hope you make your list shorter and more focused

Why hesitant about UCSF? In state + around their median MCAT. Do you have good non clinical volunteering?

True, but it is always really competitive and I do not have a lot of research/productivity.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. A girl I know with similar stats got into Columbia, pritzker, umich, and unc.

I modified your list and suggest considering
USF/Morsani
Emory
UCSF
Loyola
Western MI
Tufts
BU
Mt Sinai

My list on the initial posting has been updated to reflect my CURRENT school selection. Are Drexel, Hackensack, and CUSM (all private schools) good adds to my list?

Hackensack is good. Drexel is low yield but not a bad choice per se. Not sure about CUSM.

I am thinking about removing Nova due to how poor their admissions process has been. There have been no emails, no rejections, and no communication from them at all. Could I add either Rochester, Iowa, or U Michigan in its place?

Can add Iowa. Michigan accepts a lot from elite undergrads from what I've seen

Should I add any osteopathic schools this cycle? I was thinking:

Touro CA
Touro NV
CCOM
PCOM
Des Moines

Thoughts? I know applicants with my stats have about 75%-85% chance of getting an A through AMCAS, but want to ensue an A this cycle.

Patience. I'd wait to pull that trigger until we get to September. If you have no II's by then, I think you can at least try those five, but I would rather you focus on the MD secondaries for now.

Those DO schools would be appropriate to apply to. It does take some time to fill out AACOMAS even if much of it carries over. Applying in September would be fine.

I received an interview invite from the University of Pittsburgh this morning! It's only six days into August, and I already have more interviews than last year!

Congratulations!! Been following your Journey. Trust that things are gonna great this cycle

Updates: I haven't gotten an interview in almost a month, which is fine since I've received and completed several so far. I am excited to enter next week with the potential to receive an offer from any of the three schools that are slated to make them: VCU, UC Davis, and Wayne State. I feel like I interviewed decently well in all interviews, but I feel that I did my best in my VCU interview.

Well, today has yet to yield an A. But I only expected Wayne potentially, since VCU releases tomorrow and Davis releases a little after the 15th. I'll count my blessings though since I avoided a few pre-II R waves (Rochester/Dartmouth/Boston/TCU). Hope to update this soon with an acceptance!

Did not receive the A at VCU (no decision). WL at UC Davis. Still no decision at Wayne State.

I got my 5th interview today to MCW! I also got invited to work on a research project 🙂. I am also slated to hear back from Wayne State some time this month ("Early November"). I'm happy to have some cycle momentum after a stretch of lower activity.
