Hi everyone, I really appreciate your feedback on my school list.

Stats:
517 MCAT (130, 128, 127, 132)
4.0 GPA
ORM
CA Resident, Top 10 Public University, Senior (CC transfer)

Clinical Experience:
- 350 hours volunteering and shadowing in the Orthopedic Surgery Recovery Unit, ICU, and ED.
- 100 hours of shadowing (10 hours with a radiologist, and 90 hours with an OB-GYN who split his time at a private practice/health clinic in an underprivileged area).
- Pharmacy employee (not a technician) for 1 year (250 hours)

Research:
- 600 hours over the last two years. Have one research paper pending review (not first or second-author) that will hopefully be accepted during my gap year.
- Intend to work full-time at the same lab and start my own project during my gap year.

Volunteering:
- 1 week (45 hours) as a medical volunteer in Guatemala
- 80 hours coordinating community service events through Pi Theta Kappa
- Spent 4 months in high school volunteering in impoverished areas in Israel (I know it's high school, but multiple advisors have recommended that I include this).

ECs:
- 3000 hours (13 years) training to receive my black belt. Spent the last 6 of the 13 years teaching other students.
- 70 hours as a tutor for a special English Academy program designed to help struggling college students.
- Elected to a STEM panel by teachers looking for ways to improve their teaching methods.

Biggest concerns:
- Not enough safeties (and a lot of my safeties are low-yield). I have the budget to apply to many reaches, so I'm shooting my shot.
- I know that my application is quite weak on non-clinical volunteering hours, so I have tried to avoid applying to service-heavy schools.
- Took many of my science courses at CC, but also excelled at science classes at my 4-year university, too.

@Goro Would you advise a gap year for OP to work on nonclinical volunteering? Might DO schools be more willing to forgive this weakness in OP's application?
