Hey everyone-- just made an account because I got my MCAT score back today. Looking for help with my potential school list for the upcoming cycle.

  • Year in school: Graduated in May 2020
  • ORM male
  • State of Residence: Wisconsin
  • Undergrad institution: VA state school
  • cGPA: 3.91
  • sGPA: 3.9
  • MCAT: 519 (130/129/131/129)
  • Research
    • None
  • Clinical Experience
    • ~200 hours volunteering in a regional ED during college
  • Shadowing (concerning)
    • Virtual shadowing during the pandemic through UTSW
    • Planned to get shadowing during gap year, but the pandemic made that tough
  • Non-clinical volunteering
    • Tutoring elementary school kids: 2 years during undergrad about 250 total hours
    • Local autism center for kids: 30 hours
  • Extracurriculars
    • Social Fraternity
      • leadership positions: Health and Safety Officer, Vice President
    • Swim club member
    • UAID member (helped organize fundraisers)
  • Employment
    • Summer job in college: Camp Director for a summer program for financially challenged families through a county government
    • Current: FT employee for an EHR company
I plan to apply for the HPSP and to USUHS if that factors for anything

For the list I made I filtered around on the MSAR for stats and also for OOS favorability, beyond that I am a bit lost haha

You have a great application. The only weak link is the research - if you could do something to fill in that gap, you would be a strong applicant for many top tiers.

For now I think your list is okay but I would add a few schools from the upper tier (Sinai, Cornell, Michigan, Emory come to mind as examples). I don't think you need DO applications.

Could add Dartmouth, Emory, Michigan. Look at MSAR for other possibilities.
