Hey everyone. I'm looking for some genuine feedback on my chances of matching anesthesiology next cycle. I am a current 4th year DO student who applied ortho but did not match, so I'm looking to dual apply ortho and anesthesia next cycle. I'll be doing a research year this upcoming academic year at a program with both an ortho and anesthesiology residency, and I will be working for both departments so I'll have plenty of face time with both groups. My school does not allow me to delay graduation, so I will be applying as a graduate.
Step 1 and Level 1 pass on first attempt. Step 2 258, Level 2 669. My school does not do rankings, but they tell you if you were top quartile during preclinical, which I was. 3 honors (FM, IM, OB), 2 high pass (surgery, psych), 2 pass (EM, peds). I currently have 11 poster presentations (all in ortho), with multiple projects about to be written up and submitted. These numbers will also increase with my research year in both ortho and anesthesia, as there are many projects that are currently ongoing.
