I'm a student originally from Taiwan and I'm currently attending university in LA. I'm really interested in schools in Europe and Australia, mainly USyd, RVC, and UCD (Dublin). Also interested in Michigan State, Colorado State, and UC Davis (bit of a reach).

Cumulative GPA: 3.42
science GPA: 3.42
last 45: 3.71


Degrees:
B.S. in Biological Sciences, University of Southern California

Veterinary Experience:
- Small and exotic shelter clinic: 1200 hours
- Small animal clinic veterinary assistant: 396 hours
- AVM at Tufts (mixed animal): 80 hours
Total = 1676 hours

Animal Experience:
- Stablehand at an equine school: 1440 hours
- Competitive dressage and showjumping (horses): 800 hours
- Dog groomer: 435 hours
- Avian breeder assistant: 360 hours
Total = 3035 hours

Research Experience:
- Studying cyanobacteria with marine biologist professor - 640 hours

Awards/scholarships:
- USC Research Associates Program scholarship
- High school award for compassion and integrity for creating an adoption program for shelter animals
- Diploma in cello performance
- Dean's list for 1 semester
- Music honor society

Extracurriculars:
- Joint educational program between USC and local high schools—helped them write personal statements
- Student symphony orchestra
- Club working with children with learning disabilities—tutoring, doing art

My main concern is my GPA. I had a huge dip in academic performance over COVID. But for the last 2 semesters, I've been getting consistent A's and A-'s (3.93 and 3.85). Thanks for reading this!!

Are you able to apply to UC Davis as a resident? Sounds like you are in California, but I feel like being international originally might prevent that. I wouldn't personally advise applying with your stats unless you can apply as in-state.
