Going into my senior year at Oregon State University (Oregon resident) and I'm 19, so a first-time applicant that's also graduating a year early. I took AP classes in high school and bought the college credit for them hence the transfer GPA even though I technically never set foot on their campus. I do have transcripts from them and did make honor roll a couple of times. I am also attending the honors college at OSU and will have defended my thesis in spring 2022. I am also a part of a "pre-vet scholars" program at OSU where the person in charge of the club is also the admissions coordinator for the vet school. I will not be taking the GRE

Majoring in Biology, Minoring in Chemistry at OSU

Transfer GPA from SOU: 3.69
Cumulative GPA @ OSU: 3.78
Total Science GPA if calculated correctly: 3.68
Last 45 credits: 4.0

Letters of Rec: 1 from my boss who is a DVM, 1 from a veterinarian that I worked with at the same clinic (a highly respected vet in Oregon), and haven't asked yet but the last one from the principal investigator on my honors research project.

Hours of experience: ~1000 hours from a small animal clinic as a veterinary assistant (dogs, cats, pigs, birds, guinea pigs, reptiles, etc), ~ 45 hours shadowing at the large and small animals clinics on campus, ~500 hours as a kennel tech

Experiences listed on VMCAS: Caregiver, barista, kennel tech, vet assistant, undergraduate researcher, shadowing at the large and small animal clinics, pre-vet scholars program

Achievements: Honor roll for 7 terms, Merrill family scholarship, high school graduation cord for outstanding community service

Schools applying to: Oregon State, Colorado State, Washington State, North Carolina State, Cornell, Ohio State, and University of Missouri

I think you have a great shot! I applied this last cycle with a much lower sGPA and was accepted to university of Illinois. My biggest piece of advice would be to put EVERYTHING down, no matter how small. I talked about my 10 years of musical theatre experience more than any of my vet experiences in my interview.
