what is your gpa for the past year? for the past 2 years?
when did you decide to switch to pre-dent?

Welcome to the forums.

1) I think you need more dental exposure.
2) I think you need MUCH more community service experience.
3) I think you need to network with more schools than just Marquette (your obvious in-state).
4) Most importantly, why do you want to be a dentist? Sure, you don't have any red flags, but I don't see many "green flags" that would entice me to interview you.

you prob won't need to do a masters as long as your grades are much closer to 4.0 than 3.3...

Thanks, I've been trying to do Dental assistant but It's been really hard to find. As for community service, does it have to be dental related? The nonprofit treasures role that I have was pretty competitive to get and I'm basically involved in it every week. I was thinking about maybe doing an event teaching them about dental hygiene.

As for my why I want to become a dentist.

I was originally making a video game in virtual reality. It was going to be a learning game. So I decided to do a dentist office vibes. But because I couldn't find good references, and my friend said Immersion didn't feel real in my game. I decide call up a local dentist Clinic and asked if I could shadow. The goal was to capture the vibe and see what the office space looks like. From then on, it was kinda history. My dentist doctor basically sold dentistry to me. And I added on pre-dentistry to my major. I wish I had a deeper reason, but it all really started from a video game. I'm still trying to think of some meaningful things I can think of.

I plugged it into a calculator, Seems like I will have a upward trend hopefully and 3.3. It just sucks because I failed some classes freshman year, and Those repeats are really killing my overall GPA.

you need to let it go

concentrate on what you can control, which is your current grades...

That's why you need community service that is not dental-related. Teaching is nice, but more action where you work with people who need a little immediate help with their overall situation (food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation). Your description is leadership-focused; while that's important, I need to see you are willing to serve on the front lines as that's what you will be doing as a dentist for the rest of your career. Only from these experiences can you get an idea of why you want to help people as a dentist rather than in any other needed community role, such as a teacher.
