First-time poster was wondering what are my chances for getting into a DO school.
3.7 cGPA and around a 3.6 sGPA.
Major: Pharmaceutical Sciences
505 MCAT (127/122/127/129)
50 hours shadowing
70 hours clinical volunteering
1000+ hours working as a
pharmacy technician. Most of the time I went over patients medications to make lists for them when they see their doctor. Also worked with doctors on their patient's medications.
70 hours nonclinical volunteering, mostly through service trips to Appalachian America and helping with Hurricane Harvey relief in Texas.
500+ hours leading organizations, including one religious organization, autism speaks, and pre-pharmacy club.

The reason why I want to go to a DO school is that I want to learn more about OMM. I am interested in how I can use it in various ways to treat future patients. While I have quite a bit of experience in pharmacy (because I was pre-pharmacy), I want to use that knowledge I have of medications with my patients.

Another cars casualty! Just make sure you are not below the cutoff for which ever schools you apply to.

Chances excellent.

Thank you! I am a little worried about how my CARS score will be viewed, but I did make some adjustments with my school list.
My list is:
VCOM (all locations)
UIWSOM
KCOM
WVSOM
KCU-COM
CUSOM
BCOM
ACOM
SOMA
KYCOM
LMU DCOM
NSU
OU-HCOM
WCUCOM
LECOM (both locations)
DMU
RVUCOM

Remove OUHCOM if you are not from Ohio

I am from Ohio, I know they have a lot of in-state acceptances. I wanted to apply to Michigan State as well, but they are the same way as OUHCOM when it comes to Michigan residents. I had to take that one out of my list.

With your MCAT you have a decent shot at neomed and wright state (and maybe Toledo)

I am mostly applying to osteopathic schools. I don't have the best CARS score either so I may get screened out if I did apply to those places.

Not an adcom, but according to wise black cat CARS gets cut the most slack. It is up to you, but I think it is still worth applying to those schools. Good luck!
