Hi All,
Hoping to apply to every school on the west coast, would appreciate some advice!

-Transfer student from community college to UC Berkeley, majored in environmental sciences
-3.79 cGPA, 3.87 sGPA, 517 MCAT (1st attempt, 130/128/130/129)
-cGPA is a little deflated because I got a D in english my freshman year, retook and got an A
-Somewhat nontrad, graduated in 2021 and took 2 prereqs bostbacc
-White, parents are physicians, CA resident since 2011
-Roughly 600 hours of volunteering between hospice, needle exchange, senior care
-Miscellaneous activities on campus including environmental work and founding a political party
-One middle author publication, one first author on poster presentation at medical conference
-Some mentorship experience
-Roughly 2500 hours of non-clinical research experience between marine toxicology work and in a clinical lab
-Roughly 10,000 hours of experience in a medical spa (clinical assistant) and UCSF derm department (clinical research coordinator)
-LOR from UCSF professors, UC Berkeley professors, and community college professors
-TA for chemistry courses in community college
-Hobbies are sailing and backpacking

Not sure if all of that is helpful/relevant but it's what I've been focusing on in my application, thanks in advance! <3

You have hours that look like mine and I've been working full time + overtime for 10 years, including the time I was in college and working.

Aside from the fact you’re indicating roughly 31 hours per week of activities for the last 8 years including the time you were in college, this is a pretty solid application. Make sure you have nonclinical volunteering

oops included anticipated hours! but I've worked full time for the last 4 years so thats ~8500 hours and worked summers/part time while in college for the other 2000 or so. Volunteer hours have been spaced out since 2019 or so

is med spa considered clinical?
I was on the fence for that but decided to classify it as clinical because my title was "clinical assistant". I think it's kind of a gray area?
