Hi guys! Planning on applying MD for the upcoming 2021-2022 application cycle. School list is still a work in progress but would ideally like to maximize my chances at 20-25 schools. Let me know what you think!
  1. cGPA and sGPA as calculated by AMCAS or AACOMAS: cGPA: 3.98, cGPA: 3.98
  2. MCAT score(s) and breakdown: 510 (130/126/126/128)
  3. State of residence or country of citizenship (if non-US): CO
  4. Ethnicity and/or race: White male
  5. Undergraduate institution or category: University of Colorado
  6. Clinical experience (volunteer and non-volunteer): 1,000 hours as ED scribe, 250 hours as an inpatient hospice volunteer, 15 hours volunteering at a foot care clinic for the homeless
  7. Research experience and productivity: 1,400 hours in undergrad organic lab, 540 hours at large pharma company over a summer internship, 2nd author ACS publication, 4 poster presentations
  8. Shadowing experience and specialties represented: 35 hours total across anesthesiology and oral, maxillofacial, general, and trauma surgery
  9. Non-clinical volunteering: 150 hours starting a campus program that pairs volunteer student pianists with underrepresented kids in our community who can't afford music lessons (this includes time spent teaching kids myself), 50 hours as chemistry club vice president
  10. Other extracurricular activities (including athletics, military service, gap year activities, leadership, teaching, etc): Founder and president of school Piano Club for 3 years, played a role in getting the Math Club Integration Bee going and served as a judge, one belt below black in Taekwondo and a gold medal at a national competition the year before college, 260 hours as lab TA for analytical chemistry
  11. Relevant honors or awards: N/A
  12. Anything else not listed you think might be important: Possibly interesting story about growing up with my grandparents on a farm in rural Colorado and a central theme of caring for the elderly

You have several state public schools on your list that accept few applicants with your MCAT and no connection to the state. I suggest these schools from your list:
Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth (reach and a dream school)
University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine
St. Louis School of Medicine
Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine
University of Colorado School of Medicine (state school)
Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science
Drexel University College of Medicine
New York Medical College
Georgetown University School of Medicine
Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University
Creighton University School of Medicine
Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine
Albany Medical College
Tulane University School of Medicine
Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine
You could add any of these schools:
TCU-UNT
NOVA MD
Wake Forest
Eastern Virginia
George Washington
Seton Hall
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Medical College Wisconsin

I agree with Faha, your application is good but you have lots of low-yield type state schools on there. His list is better.

Thank you Faha! It means a lot. I have updated my school list based on your recommendations. I feel that my list is pretty strong now. Again, thanks a bunch. Stay safe out there buddy.

Here is a more realistic list:
Rochester (maybe)
U ILL (maybe)
Emory
Tufts
Pitt (maybe)
CUSM
Nova MD
U WI
U VM
Miami
George Washington
Georgetown
SLU
Albany
Rush
Rosy Franklin
NYMC
MCW
VCU
EVMS
Wayne State
Wake Forest
Netter
Jefferson
Temple
Drexel
Creighton
Tulane
Loyola
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Oakland-B
Seton Hall
TCU/UNT
U CO
U UT (maybe)
Any DO program. Include OSUCOM. I can't recommend ARCOM, RVU, Nova, BCOM, ICOM and LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide. LMU has an accreditation warning, which concerns me. CUHS is too new and appears to be too limited in rotations sites. Avoid those new schools that haven't graduated a class yet, if at all possible.
