3.625
DAT score (include AA and all sections):
I plan on taking the DAT at the beginning of next year
State of Residence: Texas

Undergrad Attended: Texas Tech and University of Houston
Major: Petroleum Engineering
Minor: Mathematics
Minority? No
Reapplicant? No
Nontrad? Yes

Shadowing Experience: In progress
Volunteering Experience: In progress
Employment: Engineer at large company - 4 years
Relevant Honors or Awards: Terry Foundation Scholar
Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere:
I am currently an engineer in the oil & gas industry and I am looking to pivot to dentistry and wanted to know what my chances are. I lack 5 courses, which I will have to take online due to my career schedule. I work weeks at a time in remote locations and then get time off so I am unable to take in-person courses. But this schedule will allow plenty of time for shadowing, studying, and volunteering. I've always been interested in dentistry and started out my undergrad as Biomedical Engineering until I pivoted schools my junior year. I know I have little shadowing experience and I have not taken the DAT yet, but everything else considered and if I score well and get the proper hours, do you think I have a chance?
School list:

I would prefer to stay in-state
UT-Houston
UT-San Antonio
A&M-Dallas

Thanks in advance!

You have a good GPA for all Texas schools, thats all I can say based on the information you have provided :D . A good DAT (20 or higher) and enough amount of shadowing and volunteering and high grades in your pre reqs give a you a good shot but as everyone says apply to more schools.
