Without more details on your activities, I suppose you are okay with the list. Do you have an idea about your mission fit with the schools? You clearly have a flag in the ground for refugee-related issues, so it's important that you have also expanded beyond this group, which I would suspect you have a strong affinity. With 300 hours of being a shelter mentor, I think you're good to go as far as cannon fodder is concerned.

Some of your baseline schools can be removed unless you really like the geography and want to serve the people in that area (Creighton, Western Michigan, Dartmouth, Cincinnati). In fact, remove any school where you know you wouldn't want to live for more than medical school.

Thank you for the recommendations! Yes, my mission fit has to do with personal history which extends into the patient populations that my EMT agency covered, my work at the refugee agency, and how I look into social determinants of health in research moving forward. I wanted to talk more about my patient facing experiences in my primary app, then move into more data focused, research sections (metabolomics and genomics) in the secondary app.

The problem is how does your mission fit with schools on your list? Every student has a patient history, so how do you know they value your work at the refugee agency? Every school will teach you SDH, and being an EMT won't help you stand out (by itself). How does metabolomics and genomics have anything to do with your mission?
