What state do you currently reside?

I'll quote Ohio State's expectations for shadowing:
Prior to applying, every candidate must complete a minimum of 40 hours of dental experience. However, the average number of hours for students that are admitted is about 120. It is important to diversify your experiences (typically 120 hours is completed with 5 or 6 practitioners). Dental experience is either paid or unpaid work in a dental field where you observed patient care (i.e., shadowing), interacted with practitioners, or had responsibility for patient care.

So I encourage you to get some general dentistry shadowing as well as other experiences in different clinic offices.

You go to dental school to become a general dentist so it's pretty important that you know what they do and that you shadow one, and you likely really want a letter from one as well. I'd put your chances as being super iffy without ANY hours and with being international.

It seems like you're applying next cycle so get at least 100 general dentist hours in before June (and probably a letter too). You have plenty of time.
